Registration and Application Information
Those who would like to participate in the Humanitarian Studies Course must register through either their academic institution or apply to be considered for the course.
Humanitarian Studies in the Field
Students enrolled in certain programs at one of the three partnering institutions (Harvard School of Public Health, The Friedman School of Nutrition Science Policy and the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology) are eligible to participate in this program. There is no application process; students must enroll in the course "Humanitarian Studies in the Field" at either Tufts or the Harvard School of Public Health to be considered a member of the Humanitarian Studies program. At present, the Humanitarian Studies program is open for enrollment to students in the following categories:
Harvard University
Harvard School of Public Health, GHP 515 (Winter Session) and GHP 516 (Spring 02)
This Course is open to all graduate students eligible for registration or cross registration at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Tufts University
Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Nutr 324
Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, DHP 213
MIT

The Humanitarian Studies Course
The Humanitarian Studies Course, formerly referred to as the 'Humanitarian Studies Initiative for Residents' is open to the public for registration. Medical residents, fellows, nurses, and mid career professionals (from the private and public sectors) have taken part in the Humanitarian Studies Course and are encouraged to apply.
Applicants are required to submit the following:
-completed application form
-a one page statement of interest
-copy of current resume/CV
-written approval of program director or director supervisor (if applicable, email will suffice)
Course Fees
Applicants are required to pay a course fee which will cover the cost of participation in the academic course as well as costs associated with the weekend simulation exercise.
